Political polarization in Iranian society, especially on the Persian Twitter sphere, is among the major challenges facing the contemporary social and political system, as it undermines national coherence and intensifies cultural and identity gaps, posing a threat to the country’s political and social stability. This study adopts a descriptive–analytic and practically oriented approach, grounded in a “depth-analytic” method, focusing on the analysis of deliberate and conscious user actions at two levels: initial description and in-depth analysis. It examines the mechanisms that amplify polarization and designs an ideal model for political convergence. The main research question asks: How does Persian Twitter contribute to the creation and intensification of political polarization in Iranian society? Findings indicate that the features of linguistic algorithms and the interactive structure of Persian Twitter create echo chambers, shape dual identities, and propagate radical discourses, thereby reinforcing political and cultural divisions. Based on an optimal model derived from Islamic principles and the political conduct of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and the leaders of the Islamic Revolution, core principles for political convergence are identified as rational and argumentative political agency, moderation and restraint, unity of voice, unity of the state and the nation, and political tolerance. In the prescriptive stage, recommended strategies include promoting a culture of constructive dialogue and civility, guiding official media toward neutrality and convergence, developing domestic platforms (e.g., “Virasti”) to reduce dependence on external networks, and organizing elite-level meetings to mitigate political gaps and counter internal and external polarizing factors. The study shows that applying these principles and strategies within the depth-analytic framework can reduce political polarization, strengthen social cohesion, and rebuild public trust in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s system.
