This study aims to design and validate a model of good governance within the political system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a particular focus on delineating its internal prerequisites and international implications. Adopting an applied research framework, this study employs an exploratory mixed-methods (qualitative-quantitative) approach. In the qualitative phase, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with 16 experts in political science, international relations, and regional studies, utilizing snowball sampling and thematic analysis. Subsequently, the quantitative phase validated the extracted model by surveying 225 specialists and practitioners in the field, with the data analyzed via Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that the proposed good governance model for the Islamic Republic of Iran consists of two primary dimensions: first, “internal requirements,” comprising political and social stability, economic development, social justice, anti-corruption measures, and administrative efficiency; and second, “output indicators,” which encompass significant international implications. These international implications are manifested in enhanced global legitimacy and credibility, improved diplomatic standing and bargaining power, facilitated foreign investment, bolstered regional and global cooperation, the de-escalation of international tensions, increased soft power and cultural diplomacy, and ultimately, the reinforcement of national security through sustainable external engagement.
