Social cohesion is a social construct in which diverse political groups and movements despite ideological and political differences reach a consensus on shared national goals and interests and, through sustained cooperation, maintain internal unity in the face of external threats. Iran’s social cohesion became particularly evident during the two imposed wars of Khordad and Esfand 1404. This article seeks to answer the question of how drawing upon the aforementioned wars external threats stemming from the expansionism of the United States and Israel have served as a factor in regenerating social cohesion within Iran. The rationale and objective of this study are to understand Iran's domestic political developments and to examine the impact of external factors and structures on the dynamics of the "sacred alliance" within the Islamic Republic of Iran.. This article is analytical-explanatory in nature, and the research method employed is discourse analysis. To this end, relevant data were gathered and analyzed through a review of authoritative sources, including books, scholarly articles, and published analytical reports.. Drawing on the theoretical framework of constructivism and emphasizing the role of ideas, norms, identities, and discourses in shaping social cohesion this article explains the mechanism by which the expansionism of the United States and Israel has transformed into a unifying factor. It does so by redefining the external threat as "the Other." The research findings indicate that the onset of US and Israeli expansionism has fostered social cohesion in Iran through several processes: redefining the external threat as a danger to national integrity, forging elite consensus on the principle of resistance, shifting public discourse toward patriotism, and strengthening coordination among military and security institutions.
